Made well, costs about the same as other clones

Synopsis:Recommended.  Basically an exact clone of the real item but much less expensive, about average price other clones.Reviewed Item:Invictus Templar Pathfinder Universal MOLLE Phone and Navigation Rig – Folding Tactical Phone Holder for Plate Carriers, Chest Rigs, and Backpacks, Fits Devices 3.5” x 6.75” (Tactical Black)Reviewed Price:$19.99Initial Impressions:This product is a near exact copy of the S&S Precision NavBoard FlipLite at almost 1/5 the price.  It came in a retail ready cardboard box, was well packed and arrived undamaged.  I found the coloring was consistent with other black items and matched well with my other black gear.  I saw no manufacturing issues and all parts fit well together.  The tension of the hinge was good and the grip of the silicone straps was solid.  The product ad measurements were basically correct.Use:Installation was very easy and the mounting method was solid with no play.  I installed on real gear (soft armor carrier with added hard plates) with correct PALS loops.  I usually run ATAK/iTAK so this setup is good for a quick hands free assessment.  I found this device was good for most sizes of phones or similar shaped things and holds them securely.  The S&S brand's silicone strap is more clear and this one is more white, but that's about the only difference.  I would prefer the more clear or black, but both have the same retention.  If the white is too off-putting, you may try something like permanent markers or similar to apply color, but rattle can options will not work due to the flexibility of the silicone causing the paint to flake off.  I did find the coloring to be consistent with the plastic on other good quality products so it blends in well with your gear (provided you have decent gear).  I haven't used it for a long time, so long term durability is unknown but if there are any problems I will update.  (I know other's say that, but I mean it.)Caveat:I'd like to provide a bit of personal info so you will know where this review comes from. There are so many utterly disappointing reviews of tactical products by people who have no idea what they are talking about. I work in a tactical environment every day and use serious and usually expensive tactical gear daily. I will review this and all products as they are advertised. If it's sold as real gear, I'll judge it as such. If it's sold as airsoft or MilSim I will hold it to that level.

Strong design and it can accomodate my oversized phone... sort of...

This phone carrier is built well with sturdy overall framing, a good hinge system, and strong rubber straps that are also still flexible enough to wrap up and secure my Samsung Note 20 Ultra in an oversized ArmadilloTek phone case that puts the overall dimensions of the phone at 6.92 x 3.43 x 0.63 inches. So credit to the phone carrier for being able to accommodate the oversized dimensions. However, it is worth noting that the cutouts on the front of the carrier seem to have been designed for newer iPhones and/or newer Google Pixel camera orientations, because it certainly doesn't allow the camera of my Note 20 Ultra to function, nor does it really function with my older iPhone 13 work phone. It would be nice to see future iterations of this carrier get rid of the hook-and-loop patch portion to allow for a bigger cutout section on one side of the carrier to accommodate more phones since being able to record while wearing this rig may be important. But, that aside, the low cost of $19.99 makes this a pretty solid value to add to your kit as it gives you somewhere to store your phone and offers the ability to use it for navigation or communication without actually having to hold it in hand. So, overall, I still think it's a 5-star item.

Works well for my Pixel 6 with a Spigen case

I haven't actually tried using this much yet but it seems to fit nicely with either a molle carrier or even a belt. The four corner straps barely fit my pixel6 with a Spigen case so I'm not sure you could do much larger of a phone than that. There is hook and loop inside of the rig as well which you could potentially use instead of the four straps.I am a tad concerned that the two black straps which hold it to the molle grid don't seem to have all that much retention to them. They seem to be designed more to be able to quickly unsnap if needed, but I don't think they would accidentally come loose if the rig is closed. The snap that holds the rig closed has quite a bit more retention.

Secure phone holder

This phone holder is very nice. The molle straps lock in real tight and the closure clasp is strong as well. Easily fit my s10 plus and held that in place securely as well.

Solid way to utilize your tech

Being familiar with ITAK and ATAK on phones, I wanted to be able to carry my phone with me on my gear. This phone holder does that job perfectly.I did try it out with multiple phones to see which one would fit best and still have a visible camera lens, if I decided to record something I was facing. Right now I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max on it and it's been great. The phone is pretty big, and because of the lens placement, one does not get blocked by the phone holder. I have an iPhone 14 Plus, that fits pretty well too and the camera lens is only slightly blocked. I tried an iPhone 12 (not Pro Max) and the lens is completely covered. With the low cost of phone plans these days and how many phones are out there it is worth trying out multiple phones to your liking. The molle was easy to attach, and holds sturdy to the carrier. I initially had it mounted up at the top but found that I could not open the holder enough before the mag below it blocked it. I moved it to be placed directly on a mag pouch, not much lower than its initial position and it seems to do well there for me.If you're in law enforcement, rescue teams or something similar, I would suggest this, if you're allowed to carry it. It does get your phone out of your pocket and close to your eyes while keeping your hands free. If you need to use the phone a lot, as far as texting or holding the phone to your ear, I would suggest against this, as it would take time to take it out and place it back in. Also, I found that the phone fit better without the case. But for navigation, while attached to a plate carrier, sustainment vest of some sort it works great.A velcro loop patch is also included on the holder for some kind of identification patch or unit patch.

Pathfinder Universal MOLLE Phone and Navigation Rig

My iPhone 13 Pro Max (with a case on) fits perfectly. No struggle getting it in or out, and it didn’t slide around thanks to the silicone straps inside. What I really liked was how it folds open when needed, but has the bungee to keep it closed when not in use. I can check my GPS or messages on the go without taking the phone out. It’s lightweight, stays secure even on rough terrain, and doesn't flop around once I get moving. MOLLE straps keep it snug on my plate carrier. If you run a chest rig or plate carrier with MOLLE webbing and want your phone where you can get to it fast, this is worth a look.

Excellent inexpensive phone case

For $20, this thing punches well above its class. The only complaint I have would be that it doesn't come with a piece of heavy duty Velcro to match the piece inside and really anchor your phone. That makes sense though, as some folks will be using their daily phone on their kit, and not want to put a piece of Velcro on their daily phone. It's not worth docking a star. The tension in the hinge is adjusted via the single screw inside the case. You can set it to your preference, mine came pretty good. The company's warranty card on front is particularly reassuring. $20 for a piece of molle kit that comes with a lifetime warranty is pretty legit.I haven't ran this piece hard, and likely never will. I run around in a field and shoot, I don't hug ropes dangling from a helicopter, I don't crawl through barbed wire, and I don't typically get blown up. I don't know how well this would hold up to all that, but for standard hiking and range days, this is excellent.

Good Phone Mount

Review provided by my son, who mounted this on his plate carrier:Overall, not bad at all. Feels fairly sturdy and will attach to molle easily. It takes some adjustment with my iPhone, which has a case on it (14 ProMax) but it fits and feels secure.Good value and great application to a vest/plate carrier. I think it's a disposable item, as anything on the front of your plate carrier will take a beating.

Great for ATAK users

Pretty decent item, especially for the price point. Fits most phones, even big ones. I was able to stuff my iPhone 16promax in it without a case. If you have anything smaller, it’ll be perfect. Functional for ATAK or iTak users!

Molle Hinged Phone Holder

Fits my s22 ultra, though only one of the lenses works to see through the window. It changes based on light levels so it's pretty annoying if you wanted to record while wearing it, you have to pick a zoom level as the main camera is blocked.Holds it in place just fine, no worries of it coming out. Useful for workouts, can get some anime in while hiking with training plates(i hate cardio). I guess it would work for checking maps and whatever tactical apps people use, I just larp around the house so it is mostly just for exercise in my case.Plastics are good quality, feels durable. Love the Templar branding, a little classier than being infidel or some other edgy thing. Has a more noble, less f you type feel.

Holds large phones securely!

I have very few complaints about this product:The first is that while it is overall well made and durable, I can definitely see pieces wearing out or breaking with hard, extended use.The second is that I personally would prefer higher phone protection, especially if used in airsoft or other activities where impact could be a concern. The third is that the camera could be blocked on certain phones, meaning you give up protection and don't get camera access either. All of that considered, it's a solid product for a decent price. It works as intended, and I had no problem fitting my S22 Ultra with a large case!It opens easily and stays shut without any fear of it coming loose or popping open unexpectedly.Overall, it works pretty well for me, and I'd recommend it to others as long as they are aware of the inherent risks/concerns with carrying your phone on your plate carrier.

Good way to mount and access your maps

This is great fro throwing on your chest and keeping a phone at hand for navigation. This one works very well and provides a secure hold for your phone. It fits phones as small as the iphone se but that leave quite a bit of extra space.I like that it straps closed. Great design decision here. Its easy and fast to deploy and stow.Great value for what you're getting.

Tough, Functional, and Perfect for the Field

This phone and navigation rig is built like a tank. The material is rugged, the stitching is solid, and it mounts securely to any MOLLE-compatible gear like plate carriers, chest rigs, or even a tactical backpack. It holds my phone snugly (fits my device around 3.5” x 6.5”) with no bouncing or shifting around. Great value for money and easy to use functionality. The folding design is super convenient—you can flip it open to check your GPS or map app without having to unclip anything or pull your phone out. It stays in place while walking, running, or working in rough terrain. Plus, it folds closed securely with hook and loop, keeping your phone protected when you don’t need it.Color is a true coyote brown and blends in great with other tactical gear. Whether you’re out on the trail, at the range, or using it for duty work, this is a solid piece of gear.Pros:✔️ Durable, rugged material with strong stitching✔️ MOLLE compatible and mounts securely✔️ Fits most phones up to 6.75” long✔️ Easy flip-open design for fast access✔️ Great for hiking, military, or outdoor useCons:❌ Not compatible with phones larger than 6.75”

Works great and exactly as described. It was large enough to hold my phone, which is pretty large. Overall, great product for the price if you have a use for it.

It works but wont fit larger android devices.

The case itself is well made, it attaches to kit well, and its affordable. Unfortunately for me its just a touch too small for my device.
